G-882 TVG Cesium Magnetometer & Transverse Gradiometer (GEOMETRICS)

Description

The GEOMETRICS G-882 Marine Magnetometer is the ideal tool for detection and mapping all sizes of ferrous objects, such as anchors, cables, pipelines, munition (UXO), etc.

The operating range extends from 20,000 to 100,000 nT. Either as a standalone system via winch or soft tow cable or attached to a sidescan sonar it provides a low cost solution for shallow and deep water applications.

It is equipped with a non radioactive self-oscillating split-beam Cesium vapor combined with a CM-221 Larmor counter, which ensures very high resolution data.

High perfomances are reached due to the high sensitivity of less than 0.004 nT/sq-rt-Hz ms and a sampling rate of 20 samples per second.
As the magnetometer is of small size it is easy to handle even on small boats and can be supplied with different cable lengths.
The power supply can be realized by 24-30 VDC battery power or 120/220 VAC via the rack mountable power supply.

Key features:

  • Cesium Vapor high performance - highest detection range and probability of detecting all sized ferrous targets
  • Echosounder / Altimeter option
  • Easy portability and handling

For increased coverage the TVG frame provides the opportunity to combine two G-882 Cesium Magnetometer in one system.
The frame ensures a stable towing of the system. It can be either deployed as standalone system via winch or even attached to a sidescan sonar.
The operating range extends from 20,000 to 100,000 nT. The magnetometers are equipped with a non radioactive self-oscillating split-beam Cesium vapor combined with a CM-221 Larmor counter, which ensures very high resolution data.

High perfomances are reached due to the high sensitivity of less than 0.004 nT/sq-rt-Hz ms and a sampling rate of up to 40 samples per second.  Integrated altimeter and depth sensors supply the operator with important information during operation.

Key features:

  • Marine Search Application for UXO, pipelines, lost objects
  • Very low heading error - +/- 0.25 nT over 360° equatorial and polar spins
  • Versatility - CM-221 counter includes 8 channel 12 bit A to D converters for real time internal diagnostics, digital data stream concatenation
  • Reliability and Ruggedness - no calibration or tuning required
